Acrylic painting 17" x 23" This is a portrait of someone who is no longer among the living. Someone who was dear to me. Someone who had my heart for many years. Anyone who has been in love or in a relationship with an alcoholic has most likely met the genie in the bottle. When I was younger, I used to think I had the power to heal and I could change anything with my devotion. I actually believed I could save someone, make it all better. All they needed was to be loved, so I thought with my innocent naivety. I traveled that road for years never losing hope. I was always a slow learner, but life eventually taught me you cannot save anyone who does not want to be saved.
